Our last full day Julia and I filled up the gas tank, packed up some snacks, loaded extra sweatshirts and socks and headed for Rocky Mountain National Park. It’s only about an hour and a half from Denver so it was perfect for a day trip. It was her first time in the Rockies (besides skiing the other day) and every so often I heard, “It is so beautiful out here, how is it so beautiful” which I was completely fine with because the Rockies are one of the most gorgeous places on Earth, in my opinion. The drive was complete bliss and it was a day filled without a care in the world. The sun shined down on us the entire day, melting the ice and snow on the roads. It was a day where we couldn’t help but smile for simply just being alive.
